![]() Seriously, the T4x series will perform way better than the 240x anytime. ![]() ![]() Very tempted to trade off the T30 and get a T4x series. I might consider packing this 240x, and archive it for a old toy. I can virtually plug this IDE drive into any IDE laptop and I'm good to go without reinstalling the entire OS! :) Voila! Good to go! And I learnt something new about Linux from this experience. Such a system will be unable to load any additional programs, and since many programs may load additional data into memory during execution, these will cease to function. After all is done, I'd just have to unplug and mount the HDD into 240x. Out of memory ( OOM) is an often undesired state of computer operation where no additional memory can be allocated for use by programs or the operating system. I had to plug the 160GB into the T30, and perform the installation from there. The BIOS does not support USB boot, and that's a PIA. Ironically, I could not install the Fedora 12 nor any OS for that matter into the 240x directly. It was worth it, certainly sped up the little 240x by heaps! No choice, cannot find a smaller IDE HDD these days, and to get a 2nd hand just not worth the price. So yes, I was wondering how many days can I survive on this old workhorse with a P3 500mhz CPU, and a 192mb maxed RAM, upgraded the HDD from 12GB 4200rpm to a 160GB 5400rpm. of, alloctry) else ERROR(Out of memory (s returned NULL) after d tries. ![]() of, alloctry) else elinkserror(Out of memory (s returned NULL) after d. Memory debugging (leaks, overflows & co) / / Wrappers for libc memory. Storage maintaining information in memory for a period of time. Encoding processing incoming information so it can be entered into memory. The memory process involves three domains: encoding, storage, and retrieval. We have a list of numbers to dial into the BBS. Memory is the processes that is used to acquire, retain, and later retrieve information. I'd say I kind of enjoy the retro feel of work! It reminds me of the late 1980s and the early 1990s of the BBS days. :) I'm posting this from Thinkpad 240x via Fedora 12 Console mode using elinks text browser.
